TC Project Information Groups

IAEA Technical Co-operation projects are classified according to Member State and contemporary TC project management views, as follows:

Country or national Projects.  Projects which derive from formal requests for co-operation by individual Member States.

Regional Africa Projects.  Projects which were or are being carried out in response to the collective needs of specific countries in continental Africa.  This selection also includes all AFRA projects (see below).

AFRA Projects.  These are projects that were or are being carried out in the framework of the African Regional Co-operative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology.

Regional Asia and Pacific Projects.  Projects carried out in response to the common needs of specific countries in continental Asia and the Pacific region.  This selection also includes the RCA projects (see below).

RCA Projects.  Projects carried out in the framework of the Regional Co-operative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology for Asia and the Pacific.

Regional Europe Projects.  Projects carried out in response to the collective needs of specific countries in continental Europe.

Regional Latin America Projects.  Projects carried out in response to the common needs of specific countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.  This selection also includes all ARCAL projects (see below).

ARCAL Projects.  Projects carried out in the framework of the Regional Co-operative Agreement for the Advancement of Nuclear Science and Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Regional West Asia Projects.  Projects carried out in response to the collective needs of specific countries in the West Asian region.

Interregional Projects.  These projects serve the common needs of several Member States in different geographical regions.

Projects by Field of Activity (FAC).  Each project is assigned one or more field of activity codes to describe the technical fields (e.g. nuclear medicine, radioactive waste management, hydrology, etc.) of the project.
