11 June 2010 | The establishment of a Regional Advisory Safety Committee for research reactors in Africa (RASCA) is a very important step for improving the safety of the African research reactors through regional cooperation and networking. This strategic approach adopted by the AFRA and the IAEA in facilitating effective networking through the establishment of RASCA will pave the way to significant further steps towards the strengthening of nuclear reactor safety and utilization in Africa with increased ownership of the AFRA Member States involved.
