Ms. Della Pietra has many years of experience working with Africa already from her studies in Economics in Vienna when she worked for an Austrian company with export markets in Africa. After finishing her studies, she worked with Citroen Österreich in various functions (personnel service, organizing staff trainings, and quality management). She then moved to Moscow where her husband was a commercial attaché at the Austrian Embassy in Moscow. Upon her return, she continued working in Austria as an independent management consultant, mainly for staff recruitment projects. Later on, she was assigned as assistant to the Director of a College of Electronics in Carinthia/Austria, and then as assistant to the Manager of a car distributor in Carinthia/Austria. Prior to her joining the Agency in 2003, Ms. Della Pietra worked for an Austrian company creating software for banking sector, where she traveled several times to Senegal to assist with the implementation of a bank card project with fingerprints for identification purposes in local savings banks.
Within the Africa Division, she has been working as Programme Management Clerk for several french and english speaking countries as well as a Programme Management Assistant for the implementation of national and regional training courses. Her almost 20 years of professional affinity to different African countries as well as her fluent french are both assets to the work in the Division.
