Born in 1955, Mr. Amha is a national of Ethiopia. Before joining the Agency in August 2006, he worked for over 20 years in the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission, where he progressed from a research officer to the level of the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission. For several years he has been the NLO of his country for the IAEA. He has a BSc in Geology from the University of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and an MSc. in Land and Water Management from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK.
