Born in 1960, Mr. Jing Zhang is a national of China. Before joining the Agency in August 2006, Mr. Zhang worked for over 25 years in the Ministry of Nuclear Industry and China Atomic Energy Authority, where he progressed from an engineer to the level of the Director General, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the China Atomic Energy Authority. For several years he was the NLO and the National Representative to RCA of his country for the IAEA. Mr. Zhang has a BSc in Nuclear Chemical Engineering from the University of Tian Jin in China. He served as Section Head for about two years for Asia and the Pacific in the TC Department of the IAEA before he was designated Section Head in the Division for Africa.
