1st African Conference on Clinical Nuclear Medicine & Medical Physics

Within the framework of the AFRA regional projects RAF/6/030 - Diagnosing Diseases using Clinical Nuclear Medicine, and RAF/6/032 - Promoting Regional and National Quality Assurance Programmes for Medical Physics in Nuclear Medicine, and with support from the IAEA, the first African Conference on Clinical Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics was held from 16 to 17 February 2008 in Khartoum, Sudan.

Ethiopia signs Country Programme Framework

During the 51st regular session of the IAEA General Conference, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia signed the Country Programme Framework (CPF) with the Agency.

The 51st regular session of the IAEA General Conference was a special one for two principal reasons: mounting of the TC exhibition (see separate story on website) and the high number of bilateral meetings that were arranged between Member State delegations and the staff of the Division for Africa.

The IAEA will organise the next Regional Post-graduate Course on Radiation Protection and on Safe Use of Radiation Sources in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 16 July - 7 December 2007 under the framework of the TC regional project on Education & Training in support of Radiation Protection Infrastructure.
