Report on the In-depth Study of the IAEA Fellowship Programme
As a follow-up to the fellowship survey done in 2005, an in-depth study of former fellows was done. Again, fellows were asked to rate the quality and the impact of the fellowship programme, and to suggest improvements. Regarding the majority of the questions, the results from this study correlate with those from the first survey. This gives us some confidence to believe that these results are indeed representative of the entire base population of former fellows from the years 2001 and 2002. [ Read more »]
Report on the IAEA Fellowship Programme Survey
To assess the impact and the quality of the IAEA fellowship programme, the Department of Technical Cooperation conducted a survey among former fellows from the years 2001 and 2002. Approximately 30% of the former fellows participated. They rated the quality and the impact of the fellowship programme on their career, on their home institute, on the technical cooperation project and on their home country. Sustainable development of groundwater resources in southern and eastern Africa
One of the major thrusts of the IAEA Technical Co-operation Programme in Africa pertains to water resources management. IAEA-supported activities aim at helping Member States to gain a better understanding and quantifiable estimates of the groundwater and surface water resources, to design and implement national strategies for national exploitation and management of these resources, and to enhance the safety of dams and artificial reservoirs. Technical Cooperation Activities in the 1990s
The desire to extend the many benefits of the peaceful uses of nuclear technology to all countries led as long ago as 1957 to the establishment of the IAEA and to the immediate introduction of a technical cooperation programme. In the more than thirty years that have passed since that time, the potential applications of nuclear techniques have greatly expanded, as have the associated benefits for social and economic development.
